E. Grace Wingard

E. Grace Wingard, a devoted mother and grandmother, 99, of Chapel Ridge, formerly of 499 Seaward Ave. Bradford, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born October 6, 1914 in Paradise, PA she was a daughter of the late Fleming and Cora (Deemer) Douthit.

On June 14, 1947 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church she married Albert H. Wingard, who died on November 1, 1994.

Mrs. Wingard worked for the Miller and Dorn families during the 1930's and 1940's as a housekeeper. After her marriage she became a stay at home mom. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Surviving is a son, Douglas (Sheila) Wingard, of Bradford, two grandchildren, Matthew Wingard of Bradford and Anna (Chad) Yohe, one great granddaughter Blakely Grace Yohe all of Zahl ND, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nine sisters, June Danvir, Orel Grogan, Hazel Shively, Lucille McCollough, Betty Koppenhaver, Doris Gould, Joan Fye, Dorothy Douthit and Wanda Snell, five brothers James, Charles, King, Harry and Max Douthit.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave. where a prayer service will be held at 11:30pm on Saturday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Leo J. Gallina retired pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
