Ethel R. Fox

Ethel R. Fox, 102, of 156 Big Shanty Road, Lewis Run, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born September 23, 1911 in Brookville she was a daughter of the late Cash A. and Clara M. (White) Benninger. She attended Brookville area schools.

On January 17, 1934 in Bradford, she married Wendall L. Fox, who died on July 23, 1963.

She was a member of Evans Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was employed as a housekeeper for area families including the families of Dr. McDowell, Dr. Still and Dr. Medden.

Surviving is one daughter, Patricia A. (Tom) Torrey, of Big Shanty, one son,Gerald F. (Sara) Fox, of Erie, one sister, Irene Stromberg, of San Antonio TX, four brothers, Clarence Benninger, of Big Shanty; twins Burrell Benninger, of Big Shanty and Darrell Benninger, of Henderson NV, and Chuck Benninger, of Big Shanty, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Helen Yeaney and Katherine Ray and two brothers James and Harry Benninger.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday July 30, 2014 from Noon to 2:00pm in Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St.  Bradford, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Larry Corner, pastor of the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
