Jack A. Grove

Jack A. Grove, 80, of 1324 East Main Street, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born May 24, 1934, in Bradford, he was a son of the late George "Dick" and Blanche (Gallagher) Grove.

On September 19, 1959 in Bradford, he married Marjorie "Marge" (Storer) Grove who survives.

Mr. Grove was a graduate of Bradford High School. On June 15, 1955 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Japan for 2 years as a communication specialist. He was honorably discharge on February 26, 1959.

Jack returned to the Bradford area and began his working career at Kendall Refinery, which later became Witco, he retired in 1997. After his retirement he worked for local family's as a landscaper.

He was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church and the Quarter Century Club at Witco. Jack was an avid golfer and a member of the Pine Acres Club, the Eagles Club and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife Marge of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter, a daughter, Jill (James) Doyle, of Cypress, TX, a sister, Betty Stockton of Rochester NY,  and one granddaughter Sara M. Doyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jim Grove.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Jay Tennies, pastor of the Hill Memorial Umited Methodist Church officiating.
