Roland E. Weaver

Roland E. Weaver, 83, of 101 Hillside Drive, Limestone, NY, passed away, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Bradford Manor.

Born May 6, 1931, in Franklin, he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Evelyn M. (Blauser) Weaver.

On October 16, 1954 he married Janet L (Hutchinson) who died July  25, 1999, then on October 30, 2003, he married Marian (Heald) Emmett-Weaver who survives.

Mr. Weaver was a 1949 graduate of Cranberry High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army, served in Korea from 1952 to 1954 and was honorably discharged. He returned from the service and started his employment with Dresser Manufacturing. He worked as a metallurgist at Dresser's and retired after 35 years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion in Allegany, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was very active in bowling and square dancing. He enjoyed collecting cars, he was a Pontiac enthusiast.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Gregg) Baker, of Bolivar, NY, a son, Brian (Jeni) Weaver, of Olean, NY, a grandson, Evan Weaver, two step daughters, Dixie (Harold) Gordon, of Emlenton, and Karen (William) Lingo, of Titusville, two step sons David (Jerrie) Emmett, and Dennis Emmett, all of Bradford, a sister, Marilyn "Janine" Adams, of Franklin, and two brothers, Galen (Barbara) Weaver, of Clarence, NY, and Dale (Mary Rose) Weaver, of Franklin, nine step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant child.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Jay Tennies, pastor of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
