Joseph S. Thomas

Joseph S. Thomas, 64, of 64 State St., passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born October 3, 1950, in Bradford he was a son of the late Carrie L. Thomas and Howard Stiles.

On March 15, 1975 at the First Wesleyan Church in Bradford he married Alicia M. (Holcomb) Thomas who survives.

Mr. Thomas was a 1970 graduate of Bradford Area High School. He had been employed at Burt McDowell Lumber Yard in Crosby, then as a taxi driver and mechanic for Gordon Ingram Taxi Service and later as the Sexton for McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was a member of the former Bradford Moose Lodge.

In addition to his wife of 40 years he is survived by three daughters, Tammy L. Goff, of Bradford, Carrie A. Thomas, of Custer City, and Melissa S. Thomas, of Lewis Run, a son, Robert J. (Jennifer) Thomas, of Bradford, two sisters, Shelia A. Carletta, Sharon Stiles, both of Bradford, a brother, Herman Stiles, of SC, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Franklin Thomas.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 26, 2015, from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 27, 2015, with Rev. Seth McClymonds, Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society or Parkinson Foundation of Western PA, 6507 Wilkins Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
