Oscar R. Moore

Oscar R. Moore, 92, formerly of 366 Langmaid Lane, passed away, Friday, June 5, 2015 at Bradford Manor.

Born October 19, 1922 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Harry and Bertha (Bond) Moore.

On July 2, 1952, he married Blanch (Zenner) Moore, who passed away in October of 1988. On June 9, 1990 at Episcopal Chapel of the Good Shepard at the Chautauqua Institute he married Loretta J (Johnson Fox) Moore who died May 21, 2009.

Oscar attended Bradford schools. He served in the United States Army with the 19th Field Artillary Battalion 5th Division 3rd Army in the European Theatre during WWII. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Service Stars and honorably discharged on October 30, 1945.

He was a member of Church of the Ascension, the Quarter Century Club, Bradford Gun Club and Amature Trap Shooter Association.

He was an Independant Oil Producer and worked at Witco Refining Corp. retiring in 1985.

Mr. Moore is survivied by one step daughter, Amy (Fox) Meserole and her husband Todd, of Kane, two step-grandchildren, Kyle Meserole and Aaron Meserole and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, six sisters and four brothers.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday June 9, 2015 from 11:00am to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., at 12:00 Noon funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Dan Reigel Pastor of Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
