Allan W. Winner

Allen W. Winner, 87, of 838 South Ave., passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born July 22, 1928, in Bradford he was a  son of the late Paul H. and Cecelia M. (DeGolier)  Winner.

On December 9, 1949, in the DeGolia EUB Church, he married Delores J. (Thayer) Winner, who survives.

Mr. Winner attended Bradford High School. On September 18, 1945 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served during WW II in the Pacific Theater during the occupation of China. He was honorably discharged September 17, 1949.

Mr. Winner started his career at W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery. He then worked for Bovaird and Seafang, and then Corning Glass Works, retiring in 1988.

Surviving is his wife, Delores of 65 years, a daughter, Deborah (Al) Watson, of Indian Trail, NC; two sons Richard (Lorelei) Winner, of Covington, GA, and James  Winner, of Bradford; two sisters, Katherine  A. Eakin, of Lewis Run, and Charlotte E. Reinhardt, of Bradford; one brother, Robert Winner, of Bradford; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Paul H. Winner

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 11:00 to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00pm, with Rev. Barbara Moore, Pastor of Evans Memorial United Methodist Church and Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes reitred Minister, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park
