Carol Tracy Smithwyck, 74, of Manhattan, NY, formerly of Bradford, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Menorah Hospice Center in New York City.

Born on March 24, 1941 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Tracy.  She attended local schools and graduated in 1959 from Bradford High School.  She went on to receive her Masters of Nursing Degree from Columbia University in NYC.

On March 4, 1982, she married Jerome Smithwyck, who survives.  Carol and Jerry purchased Turin Wine & Liquor and continued to operate the store for decades until health issues brought about their retirement.  Their love of travel took them to many places all over the world.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a brother, R. James Tracy of New York, NY;  a sister, Patti Tracy DeFrank of 15 South 1st Street, Bradford, ; a nephew, R. Lee Morell and niece, Amy Moon, both of Florida; great nephews Austin and Jacob; a great niece Cerina; an uncle;  two aunts and many wonderful cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Mark Morrell.  

There will be no visitation and private services will be held by the family at a later date.
