Frances M. O'Dell

Frances M. O'Dell, 96, formerly of 359 1/2 East Main St. Bradford, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born April 30, 1919, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Charles Grant and Susan (Mayo) O'Dell.

Frances attended Bradford schools and was a 1937 graduate of Bradford High School.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Daughters of Rebekah, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Desk & Derrick.

Frances worked for many years at Butter Krust Bakery until it closed. She later worked at Trico Industries (Bradford Motor Works) until her retirement in 1986.

She loved traveling, and during her lifetime she visited Hawaii, Alaska, England, Germany, Spain, Israel, Australia, China, and many places in the continental United States. Her last trip was to Mount Rushmore in SD, at the age of 88.

Surviving are two nieces, Susan (Darcy) Carletta and Donna (Blake) Nuzzo both of Bradford, one nephew Kenneth O'Dell of Gifford, great nieces, Linda Jemmett, Karen Butler, Diane Newhouse, Kim (Matt) DeGolier, Kendra Reiley and Brenna Reiley, great nephews, Rick Buchanan, Michael (Lisa) McLaughlin, David (Vicky) Faller and Chuck (Kristina) Faller and many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Edmon, Kenneth, Ernest "Clair", Alan and Clarence O'Dell, two nieces Joanne A. McLaughlin and Gayle Faller.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4pm to 6pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Avenue and again on Thursday from 10:00am to 11:00am, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Seth McClymonds Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
