Orin W. Swain, Jr.

Orin W. Swain, Jr., 70, of 16 Edna Ave Bradford, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his residence.

Born in August 22, 1945 in Hornell, NY, he was a son of the late Orin W. and Harriet (Chase) Swain, Sr.

He attended schools in Dansville, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 13, 1967 and was honorably discharged July 8, 1974.    

He worked in the Hornell, NY area for several years and moved to Bradford in 1998.  He worked in the Produce Department at Tops Markets for a few years.  

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is  survived by three daughters, Judy (David) McClelland and Hope (Jeremy) Lyberg, both of Bradford and Holly (Guthrie) Swain, of Hinsdale, NY; a son,Orin  W. Swain, III, of Dansville, NY; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Houghtaling, of Hornell, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Swain in infancy; a nephew, Mark Evingham and a good friend, Michael Kio. 

A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
