Rocco Rocky Vavalo

Rocco "Rocky" Vavalo, 81, formerly of High Street, passed away, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born August 9, 1935, in Bradford he was the son of the late Rosario and Mary M. (Stolico) Vavalo.

He was employed as a young man at Satterlee Lumber Mill in Lewis Run and later at Futures Rehabilitation Center for 25 years.

Rocky was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Special Olympics where he participated in   Bowling and Softball.

Rocky lived his life for family and his friends at Futures. He always had a smile on his face. His prized possession was his lawn mower, to him it was his Harley. He loved mowing his lawn.

He is survived by two nephews, William (Carol) Huber of Bradford, and Gregory (Mary) Huber of Dewittville NY, a niece-in-law, Andrea Huber of Buffalo, NY, nine grand nieces and nephews, Michelle (Bob) Chapman, Lisa (John) Daddario, Shawn (Stephanie) Huber, Kristen Huber, Robert (Lori) Huber, Andrea (Jeff) Gallup, Dustin (Julie) Huber, Carrie (Jason) Yohe, and Zachary Huber, 13 great grand nieces and nephews, Olivia Chapman, Amelia Chapman, Seth Huber, Alexis Huber, Kate Huber, Mia Huber, Caroline Huber, Grace Huber, Sophia Daddario, Ellery Yohe, Kyle Yohe, Grace Gallup and George Gallup. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ann Huber and one nephew Charles R. Huber.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 10:00am to 11:30am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where funeral services will be held at 11:30am, with Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor of St. Francis Church officiating. Burial will be in  McKean Memorial Park.
