Twila M. Schermerhorn

Twila M. Schermerhorn, 76, of Cyclone, passed away, Sunday, August 21, 2016, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born July 10, 1940, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Fannin) Raught.

On June 13, 1964, in Limestone, she married Fred E. Schermerhorn Sr, who died on September 16, 2014.

Twila was a former member Cyclone Free Methodist Church.

She had been employed at McCory's 5 & 10 Store, KOA Speer and as a cook at the Sena Kean Manor and later at the Hannum Home.

She is survived by her children, a daughter Lorie Gault, of Bradford, two sons, Fred E. Schermerhorn, Jr, of Springfield, WV, and Martin W. Schermerhorn, of Cyclone, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother Thomas Raught of Rixford, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert Schermerhorn who died February 28, 2016, three sisters, Marge Button, Grace Banks, and Elizabeth Freshwater and one brother Ralph Raught Jr.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 7:00pm with Rev. Frank Eppley, pastor of the Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane, officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.

Memorials if desired may be made to the American Diabeties Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
