Betty L. Lama, 86, a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt, formerly of 11 Osborne Place, passed away, Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Bradford Manor where she had resided for the last 6 years.
Born March 22, 1930, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Commodore Perry and Pearl (Myers) Brown.
On December 19, 1964 in Bradford she married Ralph "Yak" Lama, who died on November 29, 1971.
Betty loved children, and was a caregiver for many area children over the years.
Mrs. Lama was known for her home made banana bread and selling it at the Farmers Market.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Louk-Silvis and her husband David, of Bradford, and Linda Louk-Wilson and her husband William, of Bellefonte, four grandchildren, Shannon Ridenour, Dawn Evans, Amber Noonkester and Joy Cucuzza, 8 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., with Rev. Matt Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
