Edwin A. Patterson

Edwin A. Patterson, 96, formerly of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Prescott Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in North Andover , MA.

Born in New Bedford on April 12, 1920, he was a son of the late Edwin and Orvella (Ishman) Patterson.

On Jan 11, 1944, he married Genevieve M. (Scott) Patterson, who passed away December 14, 2015.

He was raised and attended school in The Scotland, PA Orphanage.  He then graduated from Bradford High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served during WWII and was honorably discharged, December 21, 1945. 

Mr. Patterson worked as a machinist for most of his life and retired from Bradford Motor Works.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was active in the Men's Club. 

He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was passionate about gardening and very proud of his flowers.  In his spare time, he was an amateur barber and enjoyed playing poker. 

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Kay Duckstein and Donna (Peter) Fulton, all of Byfield, MA; two sons Edwin Patterson, of Santa Fe, NM; Thomas Patterson, of Chandler, AZ; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. 

Friends are invited to call from 10-11 AM Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park.
