Helen I. Collins

Helen I. Collins, 92, Marshburg, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born in Sugar Grove on June 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leo M. and Naomi  (Winchill) Drake.

On December 29, 1948 in Warren, she married Roland L. Collins, who passed away January 6, 1994.

She attended a one room school house, Stilson Hill Elementary School and graduated from Sugar Grove Vocational High School.  After high school, she worked for Bell Telephone for a time before her marriage. 

She was a member of Central Baptist Church

She had a strong love for Christ, enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and especially her great grandchildren and her puppies and had a spunky attitude to all who knew her. 

She is survived by two daughters, Delores (Jim) Blyth, of Huntersville, NC and Shirley (George) Wilson, of Mt. Jewett; a son in law Earl (Pam) Hartman of Warren; five grandchildren, Brenda (Brian) Allison, Todd (Nicole) Hartman, Melissa (John) Hanson, Christina (Chris) Wilson and Kyle (Hillary) Wilson; fourteen great grandchildren, Ashley, Royce, Chase, Brandon, Seth, Tony, Austin, Colton, Caleb, Satene, Alexis, Emiree, Drake and Kori and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Baker, a grandson, Danny Blyth, and two brothers, A. Sanford Drake and Lester A. Drake.

Friends are invited to call from 10-11 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Randall Sherlin, Assistant Pastor of the Bradford Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
