James R. Grove, 83,of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Olean General Hospital. 

Born November 22, 1933,  in Western Port, MD, he was a son of the late Claude W. and Daisy D. (Hutton) Grove.

On September 26, 1986, he married Lorna S.P. (Cheung) Grove, who survives.

He attended schools in Maryland and West Virginia. 

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.  

After his military service, he worked in the tree service business for a time.  He came to Bradford and began working for Corning Glass Works, which became Bradford Electronics, from where he retired after many years of service. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Claude W. Grove, of Bradford and two nephews, Tim Grove and Larry Grove.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Grove. 

There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in Philos Cemetery in Western Port, MD.
