Thomas Mark Zimbardi, 60, of 25 Lowell Ave., Bradford, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, February 19, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 17, 1957 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Nuzzo) Zimbardi.
Tom was a 1975 graduate of Bradford Area High School, he later graduated from The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in 1979 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Tom spent most of his working career in retail grocery, holding key management positions at Kmart, Quality Markets, and most recently Tops Markets in Bradford.
He was a member of St. Bernard Church and St Jude League. Tom was devoted to family in every way possible. He was the primary caregiver late in life to his mother Josephine Zimbardi, as well as his Aunt Margaret.
Surviving are two brothers, James (Julie) Zimbardi of Canton, GA, and John “Pick” (Kelly) Zimbardi of Bradford, two nieces, Alyson Zimbardi (Nicholas) Sharp of Canton, Ga., Elizabeth Zimbardi of Bradford, two nephews Bryan Zimbardi of Woodstock, Ga. and Anthony Zimbardi of Bradford. In addition Tom was also proud of his role as great uncle to, Jackson Zimbardi, and Bekham, Graham, and Ryland Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three very special aunts, Genevieve, Mary and Margaret Nuzzo, two uncle’s James and Angelo Nuzzo.
Family will receive friends on Friday February 24, 2017, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue, where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Bernard Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made to The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) to support cancer research or UPMC Cancer Center to support patient care.
