Nancy Jean Yeager

Nancy Jean Yeager, 83, of 991 Summit Road, in Rew, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 3, 1933, in Humphrey, NY, she was a daughter of the late Creighton and Dorothy A. (Eighman) Chesebro.

On October 25, 1952, in St. Francis Church before Msgr. G. Calton Ritchie, she married Leon 'Red' Yeager, who survives.   

She attended school in Rew, and was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School. 

Nancy worked as a waitress for over 30 years at various establishments in the area, including the Holiday Inn, The Pennhills Club, Brothers Inn, where she also was the manager and retired from the Lighthouse Family Restaurant. 

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, making hats for cancer patients and shopping on QVC. 

In addition to her husband, Red of 64 years, she is survived by a daughter, Lori L. (Jeff) Covert, of Cyclone; three sons Rick L. Yeager, of Derrick City, Larry A. (Sue) Yeager, of Rew and Kevin P. (Noney) Yeager, of Rew; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, John (Alice) Chesebro of Coleville; one brother-in-law, Charles McKeirnan of Smethport and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol McKeirnan. 

Friends are invited to call from 11 AM to 12 Noon, Saturday, May 20, 2017, in the Hilltop Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 12 Noon with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the Hilltop Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
