Richard Slim Johnson

Richard A. 'Slim' Johnson, 88, formerly of Julie Lane, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Chapel Ridge. 

Born January 25, 1929 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Arvid and Helen (Cobb) Johnson.

On July 19, 1947 in Bradford, he married Marie V. 'Pee Wee' (Colella) Johnson, who passed away December 25, 2015.   

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. 

Slim was a 1947 graduate of Bradford High School.  After high school, he went to work with his father and continued to work in that capacity until his retirement. 

Surviving are three children, Richard D. (Joni) Johnson, of Lewis Center, OH, Terry M.  Johnson, of Quarryville and Julie (Tom) Dietrich, of Thornton, CO; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three sisters, Shirley (Paul) Madison of Bradford, Karen Curcio of Midlothian, VA and Beverly Johnston of Gray, TN; a brother, Carl Johnson of Largo, FL and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Johnson. 

Friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM, Monday, September 18, 2017 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Ave., and again from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Tom Pierotti, Pastor, officiating. Mausoleum entombment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to St. Jude Children's Research, Emmanuel Lutheran Church of the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
