Kingston P. Olinger, 77, of 728 Sumitt Road, Bradford, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, peacefully, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born May 26, 1940 in Kane, he was a son of the late Kingston W. and Nellie (Powetek) Olinger. He was a 1958 graduate of Hazel Hurst High School.
On March 23, 1961 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, served during Vietnam for 4 years and two years in the reserves. He was honorably discharged on March 22, 1967.
On December 9, 1961 in Mt. Jewett he married Nancy K. (Schlopy) Olinger who survives.
Kingston was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an equipment operator over 35 years, retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed going to NASCAR races, car shows, and restoring old cars. His prized restoration was his 1965 GTO. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy of 55 years, is one daughter Marcia (Tim) Riley of Bradford, two sons, Kevin (Barbara) Olinger of Smithfield VA, and Kurt Olinger of St. Petersburg FL, three grandchildren, Kasey Olinger, Ty Riley and AlexieAnn Riley, one brother Frederic (Stella) Olinger, of Ravenna NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Roger Olinger.
Friends will be received on Thursday October 5, 2017, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Avenue. At 7:00pm prayers will be offered by Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, followed by Military Honors.
