Martha J. "Marty" Uhler

Martha J. "Marty" Uhler, 103, of 54 Jerome Ave., Bradford, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, peacefully, at her residence.

Born in Indiana, PA on September 21, 1914, she was the daughter of the late James Stewart and Edna (Britton) Johnston.

Martha was a graduate of Indiana High School and Indiana State Teachers College, now known as IUP.

On June 16, 1940 in Indiana, she married Raymond C. Uhler who preceded her in death on April 3, 1993.

Mrs.Uhler was employed as a substitute teacher at Bradford Area School District for many years.

Marty was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana, until they moved to Bradford in 1944, where she joined the First Presbyterian Church in Bradford.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and caring neighbors.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Raymond M. Johnston and J. Stewart Johnston.

Due to Mrs. Uhler's wishes no services will be observed. Burial will be private in Oakland Cemetery in Indiana.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
