We are very sorry for your loss. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. When I drove by Bud always waved at me when he was in the garage or mowing. Very friendly and nice. Always had time to talk when I saw you and he in town.

As I stopped last spring to put the pussy willows on my mom’s grave I noticed with concern that the pussy willows that had greeted me for the past 15 years were not there. My concern was realized as I read that Frank or the “polish prince”, as my mom affectionately referred to him, had passed away. The tradition of their swapping pussy willows had begun during their time working together at their beloved GGB……..a time I know they both valued for the fun and friendships that they and so many at GGB enjoyed. Every spring my mom would have me scouring the woods to get pussy willows so she could get them to Frank by Dingus Day, the polish holiday celebrated the first Monday after Easter. The gesture was always returned in kind even after her death with a small bouquet of pussy willows on her grave. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Theresa and the rest of the family. He will be greatly missed but he leaves behind so many wonderful memories. We can also take consolation in that Frank and my mom will be together this spring celebrating Dingus Day together as I am sure there are pussy willows in heaven. Jan Nelson Burkness
