Ruby V. Rudesill

Ruby V Rudesill, 100, of 2038 Owego Rd., Vestal, NY, formerly of 243 Looker Mountain Trail passed away Monday, October 2, 2018 at James G. Johnson Memorial Rest Home in Johnson City, NY.

Born January 27, 1918, in Bradford, PA she was a daughter of the late Ralph P. and Laura A. (Yeater) Stanford. 

On August 31, 1934 in Bradford she married James D. “Buster” Rudesill who died May 4, 2006.

Mrs. Rudesill attended Bradford Area Schools.  She had been employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Andrew Johnson III and Dr. Samuel F. Zeigler for a total of 37 years, retiring in 1990.

Ruby was a 69 year member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Sawyer Evangelical Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Jane (Clark “Si”) Baldwin of Vestal, NY, and Janet (the late Harry) Siebert of Corning NY, 4 grandchildren, Marsha (Steven) Frost, Marjorie Baldwin, Matthew (Janice) Baldwin, and Stirling (the late Michael) Baldwin, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great grand children, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Earl Ralph Rudesill, one grandson Michael Baldwin, one sister Edwina Vennard and four brother’s Oscar, Ralph, Howard, George Stanford.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main Street from 11:00 am to Noon at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Robert Baldwin, Pastor of the Lafayette Evangelical Church officiating.  Committal services and burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park.
