Kookie E. Dougherty

Kookie H. E. Dougherty, 74, of 627 Main St., Limestone, NY, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Roswell Park, Buffalo, NY.

Born January 18, 1944 in Salamanca, NY, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Fern (Titus)    Andress.

In 1961 she graduated from Limestone High School. 

On August 12,1961 in St. Patricks Church in Limestone, NY, she married the late Herbert J. "Herb" Dougherty, who passed away, February 23, 2017.

Kookie worked at Case Cutlery for 30 years. 

She was a lifetime member of the Limestone VFW Woman's Auxiliary, Seneca Nation of Indians, Heron Clan. Kookie loved to play bingo and was passionate about being on the water fishing.

Surviving is one son, Matthew Dougherty, of Knoxville, TN, one grandson, Kyle (Brittney) Matthias, two great grandchildren, Dax and Madelyn, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters,  Kathleen Dougherty and Cindy  Matthias, two sisters, Jacqueline "Suzie" Clark, and Carol Andress, and two brothers Michael Andress, and John Andress.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at the Limestone Community Center in Limestone, NY, for a Celebration of Life will be held for Kookie and her daughter Kathleen Dougherty.  Burial will be in Horseshoe Cemetery, Kill Buck, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill funeral Homes, Inc.
