Melvin "Bunky" Easton

Melvin "Bunky" Easton, 74, of Kane, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center

Born in Coudersport, on May 4, 1944, he was a son of the late Leonard and Louise (Bailey) and Easton.

Melvin attended Shinglehouse schools.

He enlisted in the United States Army on February 13, 1963, and served in Vietnam. He was honorable discharge on February 12, 1969.

On January 22, 1972 in Bradford, he married his wife Susanne K. (Kramer) Easton who survives.

Melvin worked for Jarl Extrusion in Rochester, NY, Vantine Oil Company and Cline Oil Company where he retired.

A member of the American Legion, Hilltop Lions Club and Kane Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, riding his motorcycle, camping and woodworking.

Surviving in addition to his wife Susanne of 46 years is one daughter, Pamela McGuffee, four sons, Robert Easton, Matthew Ayers, Ivan Easton, and David Easton, one sister Audrey Schultz, 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Katherine LeCrone, six sisters and four brothers.

There will be no public services observed. Private services will be held by the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to the SPCA or the Lions Club, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
