Helen I. Ewell

Helen I. Ewell, 95, formerly of 47 Jefferson St., Bradford, passed away Saturday October 27, 2018, at the Bradford Manor.

Born December 15, 1922 in Winburne, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Katherine H. (Kopelock) Terpak.

Helen was a 1940 graduate of St. Bernard School.

On May 8, 1946 in St. Bernard Church she married John F. Ewell who preceded her in death on February 14, 2008.

Mrs. Ewell worked at Penelec during WWII, and for many years was a secretary at Perkins Insurance Company.

Helen was a member of St. Bernard Church where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and sang in the Resurection Choir.

Surviving is one son Thomas A. (Cindy) Ewell, of Montgomery NY, five sisters, Elizabeth Lindemuth of Bradford, Katherine Hasbrouck of Bradenton FL, Mary Marley of Dallas, Dorothy Munson, of Frewsburg, and Sue Ann Brown of Irving TX, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister Margaret Peckham.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday October 30, 2018, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes 372 East Main St., where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Bernard Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor as Celebrent. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials if desired may be made to St. Bernard Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
