All Condolences -

Lee , Eric,Connie , Michele and family, Gloria’s reward is a triumph for her but bittersweet for all of you who will miss her so very much. I learned a lot from Gloria’s abiding faith as we prayed together so many times. She was such an encouragement to so many. We will be praying for your family as you grieve this precious, godly woman. What a day that will be when we see her again.
— Sally, Scott and Sami Newton

I was/am so sorry to hear of Gloria’s crossing into eternity despite the fact that I know she is in a much better place. One of the most beautiful truths of our Christian faith is that life does not end at death. We believe that “life is changed, not taken away.” In Matthew 5:4 the bible says, “Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.” But another scripture verse I can offer that might help is Psalms 34:19 where it says, “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” That may not be much comfort right now but write it down and reread it from time to time as you go through your day. I’ll be whispering prayer for you. Just so you know, Gloria and I met during the summer between or sophomore and junior years at a weekend Youth Fellowship Retreat at Camp Findley, Findley Lake,NY. I had just moved into Bradford from Rixford. I’ll never forget when on Sunday night Rick Burdick told me you only lived a few miles down the road from his house. You may not know these folks but Gloria, Rick Burdick, Mary Beth Burdick, Paula Whitcomb, Shelley Smith, and Keith Hillard were very instrumental in helping me meet and make friends with many of my new classmates at BHS. When I later left Bradford we where not able to stay in contact. Then we found each other again on Social Media. This is a special message just for Lee. I lost my wife to a heart attack 19 years and 10 months ago. There has not ever been a day during that time that I didn’t think about her. I tell you that to tell you this hang in there. The pain is real now but like a deep cut in the skin, the pain will become less and less. It will take some time to no longer feel the lump in your throat and/or the butterflies in your stomach. But she will always be on your mind and in your heart. I feel for you sir. And to the rest of the family, there will someday be a hello after this goodbye.
— JOHN OLEXA

I will always remember Gloria for she had the most beautiful smile that would light up a room with a twinkle in her eye. I always loved it when her and my dad Paul Emerick would kid around at family reunions and she would always put him in his place. She always made me feel loved and at home even though we only saw one another during family reunions. She will be missed but I know she is shining down on us from heaven with her big bright beautiful smile.
