Alice L. Carpenter

Alice L. Carpenter, 92, of 99 Nelson Avenue, Bradford, formerly of Harrisburg Run, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Olean General Hospital.

Born in Betula, on October 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late George and Carita (Campbell) Burdick. 

She was a 1947 graduate of Tidioute High School and a 1950 graduate of the Bradford Hospital School of Nursing.

On August 27, 1950, in Tidioute, she married Rolland H. Carpenter, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1994. 

Alice worked as a registered nurse at Bradford Hospital for over 43 years, retiring in 1993. 

Alice enjoyed bowling, reading, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles and cheering for her favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.

She was a former member of Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda (John O'Brien) Carpenter, of Quincy, MA. Sandra (Walter) Burns, of Bradford, and Brenda Carpenter, of Bradford, one son, Robert (JoAnne) Carpenter, of Orlando FL, one grandson, Andrew Burns, one sister, Ilene Altenhein, of Mina, PA, one brother, Frederick Alan Burdick, of Emporium, four nephews, and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, James E. Burdick, and David G. Burdick.

Services are private and at the convenience of family at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., with Rev. Joshua Haney, Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Bradford Public Library, or a charity of the donor's choice.
