William H. Matthews, 90, of Gates Hollow, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, in Erie.

Born in Clermont, on November 3, 1931, he was a son of the late John and Yerda (Anderson) Matthews. He was a 1949 graduate of Bradford High School.

On September 24, 1955, in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, he married Cora Randine (Schaeffer) Matthews who preceded him in death on August 19, 2015.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He served from December of 1952 to November of 1954 and was honorably discharged.

Bill was employed as a Shop Clerk for over 30 years at National Fuel Gas Company. Bill was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the McKean County Rifle Club, and Bradford Gun Club, he was an avid outdoorsman and hobby farming.

Surviving is one daughter, Randine M. (Alfred) Ruiz, of Alhambra, CA, one son, John (Anna Marie Chirillo) Matthews, of Bradford, two grandchildren, Andrew Reap, and Joey Reap and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Cora of 60 years.

At the family's request there will be no public services.
