Mark E. Lopus

Mark E. Lopus, 67, of Bradford, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. 

Born March 8, 1956, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Milton E. Lopus and Emily M. (Love) Blaske, who survives.

He was a 1974 graduate of Bradford High School. Mark was a proud member of the Owls ’73 and ’74 football teams and always cherished Coach John Durham. 

Mark was employed by the Susquehanna Laborers Union #158 as a skilled construction worker. 

He enjoyed listening to music, Steelers football, Nascar, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, growing things in his garden, his two dogs, talking to and spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and a sense of humor that would light up a room. 

Surviving is his mother, Emily (Bob) Blaske, of Allegany, NY, one daughter, Emily (Jim Beam) Lopus, of Allison Park, two grandchildren, Blake Beam and Isabella Beam, Marks longtime companion, Maryanne Cole, of Bradford, one sister, Vickie McCullough, of Harrisburg, one brother, Terry (Melinda) Lopus, of Bradford, his step-mother, Carol Lopus, of Harrisburg, one sister-in-law, Cheryl Lopus, of Bradford, one brother-in-law, Ron Keim, of Smethport, one step-brother, Jeremy Lopus, one step-sister, Rachel Watson, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, Susan Keim, and Lisa Beth Lopus-Ramer, and one brother, Andy Lopus, 

Friends will be received on Friday October 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main Street, where at 5:00 PM funeral services will be held with Pastor, Pam Nelson, of the East Smethport United Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
