Barbara Ann Frantz, 98, formerly of Gilbert Lane, and Nelson Avenue Apts., Bradford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 1, 2023, surrounded by her family at the Bradford Manor.
Born April 25, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Bertha (Cauvel) Wright.
On February 5, 1943, in Allegany, NY, she married the late William C. Frantz, who proceeded her in death on May 23, 2004.
Barbara worked for over 30 years at Zippo Manufacturing retiring in 1986. She and her husband enjoyed camping at Red Oak Campground, traveling with friends and their church family. She bowled in the Zippo Mixed League. Barb attended Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. She also volunteered at the Red Cross after retirement, working in the kitchen for the Meals on Wheels program.
Barbara was a devoted Christian and was a member of the West Branch Church since April of 1954. There she taught bible school, sang in the choir, and raised her kids and grandchildren in the way of the Lord. Barb was a member of the Christian Women's Club.
Surviving are two sons, Terry (Nancy) Frantz and Martin "Mick" (Tanya) Frantz. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, Sue (Mark) Courteau, Carol Frantz Monroe, Mark (Chriss) Frantz, Kim (Chris) Olssen, Buffie (Todd) Baldwin, Marty (Tim) Nicastro, Chad (Wendy) Frantz, Brittany (Nate Bottorf) Raabe, 13 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Sue Ann Frantz, one son, Ronald W. Frantz, one grandson, Cody Frantz, two daughter in-laws, Candace Frantz and Marlene Trumbell, and one sister, Elizabeth Dollard.
Family will receive friends on Friday October 6, 2023, from 10 am to noon in the West Branch Church followed by funeral services at noon with Rev. Matt Blake, Global Methodist Pastor in Franklin, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to West Branch Church, Meals on Wheels, or the charity of the donor's choice.
