Dorothy L. Maholic

Dorothy L. Maholic, 91, of 122 Minard Run Road, Bradford, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, surrounded by family members at her residence.

Born at home on October 11, 1932, in Cyclone, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth A. (Powers) Swartzfager. She was a 1950 graduate of Bradford High School.

On September 26, 1953, in St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport, she married William E. Maholic, who passed away June 4, 2005.

Dorothy's life revolved around her family, she enjoyed raising her six children, cooking wonderful meals, and going camping. She enjoyed the next chapter in her life, spoiling her grandchildren and attending the events in their lives. She and Bill enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Texas.

Surviving is one daughter, Ann (James) Tofil, of Forestville NY, four sons, John Maholic, and Michael (Lisa) Maholic, all of Bradford, Dave Maholic, of North Olmstead OH, and Bob (Martie) Maholic, of Bellefonte, one daughter-in-law, Wendy Maholic, of Hampton GA, eight grandchildren, Michael Miller, Brian Copeland, Jeanna Cooper, Andrew Maholic, Kristy Raber, Jonathan Maholic, Becky Maholic, and Abby Mansfield, four great grandchildren, Nolan, Chloe, Katie and William, two sisters, Mary (Tom) O'Connell, of Mt. Alton, and Julie Glenn, of Paynesville OH, two brothers, William (Patti) Swartzfager, of Rochester NY, and Dennis (Alice) Swartzfager, of New Bethlehem, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, one son, MSG Thomas D. Maholic, one son in law Tim Davis, three sisters, Cynthia Fitzgerald, Kathleen Swartzfager and Sharon Swartzfager, and three brothers, Lawrence, John and Brian Swartzfager.

Friends will be invited to attend a Celebration of Dorothy's Life on Sunday July 7, 2024, from 3 pm to 6 pm in the Mt. Jewett Sportsman's Club.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Bradford Area Public Library, or charity of your choosing.
