Bruce E. Dewalt

Bruce E. DeWalt, 69, of Bradford and winter resident of Kissimmee, FL passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Born February 26, 1955, in Spring Valley, IL, he was a son of the late Merlin and Dorothy (Landers) DeWalt. His family relocated to Phoenix AZ when Bruce was very young. He attended schools in Arizona.

On May 9, 1987, he married his wife Diane at Encanto Park in Phoenix.

Bruce was employed for many years as a tractor trailer driver for various companies around the country. Prior to retiring he owned and operated the Engine Doctor on Russell Boulevard in Bradford for nearly 10 years.

He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, boating, fishing and hunting. Bruce enjoyed going to Florida in the winters. During their years together, he and Diane enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada.

Surviving are his wife Diane J. (Woods) DeWalt, three sons, Tim (Heather) Gross, of St. Cloud FL, Todd (Amy) Gross, of Bradford, and Tom (Stacey) Gross, of Bradford, six grandchildren, Timothy Malasky, Travis Gross, Tyler Gross, Tyus Gross, Samantha Gross, and Tristan Gross, three sisters, Patti Lapadura, of Tiffin, OH, Peggy (Bob) Boelke, of Peoria AZ, and Marsha (Bruce) Pitrof, of Wasilla AK, one brother, Donald (Wanda) DeWalt, of Phoenix AZ, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Steve DeWalt.

A gathering of Bruce's family and friends will be held on October 12, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm at 268 Minard Run Road in Bradford.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. in Bradford.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Tuna Valley Trail Association P.O. Box 708, Bradford PA 16701, or a charity of the donor's choice.
