Jack W. Hanson, 83, of 1104 West Washington St., Bradford, passed away, August 6, 2024, at the Bradford Manor.
Born on May 7, 1941, in Bradford, he was a son of the late George and Marjorie (Peterson) Hanson. He was a 1960 graduate from Bradford High School.
On June 29, 1963, at the First Presbyterian Church he married Gloria (Bond) Hanson who survives.
Jack served in the United States Army from 1966-1969. While in the service he was an off-set Laboratory Assistant Teacher at the Clover Park School.
After his service, he attended the Merganthaler Linotype School in New York City, and worked for the Post Journal in Jamestown after completion of his training. He moved to Bradford and continued his printing career for the next 41 years at McCourt Label. He also served as supervisor of shipping at McCourt prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church he was a Little League baseball and football coach for 11 years. Jack was a member of Pine Acres Golf Club, the McKean County Rifle Club. the Eagles Club, the National Rifle Association, and the American Legion Post 108.
Jack enjoyed soaking up the sun on Myrtle Beach, but most of all, he enjoyed staying at the camp for fishing and hunting with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, of 61 years Gloria, are many nieces and nephews, including Donald Hultberg, Karen Hultberg Linda Lamb, Steve Hanson, Gary Finzel, Bob Finzel, Sue Zappola, and Ali Pepperling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jeffrey (Carol Ann) Hanson, two sisters, Lois Finzel, and Harriette Hultberg, two brothers, Richard Hanson, and William Hanson, and one nephew, Kenneth Hultberg.
Friends will be received on Saturday August 17, 2024, from 11:00 am to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Avenue, Bradford. At Noon funeral services will be held with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired Presbyterian minister officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
