Larry K. Crandall

Larry K. Crandall, 79, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his residence.

Born on February 10, 1945, in Olean, NY, he was a son of the late Irene (Whitmer) Crandall and Kenneth Crandall.

He was a 1963 graduate of Bradford High School, and a 1968 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in business Logistics. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1968 and served 6 years before being honorably discharged in 1974. Larry went on to enjoy a wonderful career at Consolidated Freightways for more than 30 years, where he was a Terminal Manager at multiple locations before retiring as a Weights and Inspections Supervisor in 2012.

Larry was an excellent marksman, earning a Sharpshooter designation during his time in the military, and he continued to enjoy target shooting and hunting throughout the years. He also enjoyed working on anything with a motor or engine, from RC Cars to motorcycles and automobiles, he always had something he was taking apart or putting back together. However, his true passion throughout his lifetime was woodworking. He spent countless hours in his woodshop, and he has made many handcrafted pieces that his family will continue to cherish for years to come.

Surviving are two sons, Brian Crandall and his wife Amanda, of National Harbor, MD, Jason Crandall and his wife Deven, of Sykesville, MD, one sister, Diane Barnes and her husband Jack, of West Palm Beach, FL, three grandchildren, Hannah Crandall, Olivia Crandall, Evelyn Crandall, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a lifelong friend in Lee Eliason of Bradford.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Rene Harpster, and one brother, Donald Crandall.
