Charles L. “Chuck” Clark, 92, of Bradford, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024 at the Nebraska Masonic Retirement Home in Plattsmouth, NE.
Born on March 12, 1932, in Bradford, Chuck grew up in Dubois and Bradford, Upon graduating from Bradford High School in 1950, he joined the United States Army and served two years, stationed in Japan.
He married Fay J. Watson of Rixford, who passed away in 2012, and had three sons while living in Pleasantville.
Chuck worked in a series of management and administration roles in oil Pennzoil, Kendall Refining Company, manufacturing at Universal Cyclops, Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, and local governments Pleasantville Borough Secretary, Hamburg Borough Manager, Quakertown assistant Borough Manager, Hatfield Township Manager, Clay Township Manager, Boyertown Borough Manager and New Hanover assistant township Manager, before retiring in Buffalo, NY in 2001. He found his time in local government to be the most challenging and rewarding jobs he held. Chuck was also married for a time to Janet Schumaker of Hamburg, PA and was a long-time companion of Phyllis Gertis of Buffalo, NY before she passed away in 2022.
Chuck was a member of the Masons for over 60 years and served on several church, community, volunteer, PTA, and youth athletic organizations while also participating in several community plays.
Chuck is survived by three sons, Todd Clark of Omaha, NE, and Shawn Clark of Grants Pass, OR, and Tim Clark of Chantilly, VA, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday September 21, 2024, at 10:00 am in McKean Memorial Park with Rev. Jay Tennies officiating.
