Daniel R. Slater, Sr.

Daniel R. Slater, Sr., 72, of Hedgehog Lane passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at his residence.

Born February 12, 1952, in Kane, he was the son of the late Sidney D. and Vinnie (Lawton) Slater. He attended Bradford High School.

On October 6, 1973, in Virginia he married Bonnie S. Anthony Slater who preceded him in death on January 16, 2022.

He formerly worked at Air-Co Speer and later joined the Bradford Township Sanitary Department for 42 years. He retired as the Sanitation Forman.

He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars. His 1955 Chevrolet was his current project. He was the Teamsters Union Steward for Local #110.

Surviving are two daughters, Lori Aponte, of Rochester NY, and Shirley (Edward) O'Dell, of Bradford, two sons, Jeffrey (Wendy) Neatrour, of Crosby, and Daniel (Tawnya) Slater Jr., of Bradford, 14 grandchildren, Andrew Neatrour, Justin Kaziska, Ashley Kaziska, Matt Kaziska, Danielle Connor, Brady Pysadee, Ashton Pysadee, Joshua McCalla, Chad McCalla, Hunter O'Dell, Sophie O'Dell, Uriah Slater, Malek Slater and Bodhi Slater. 14 great grandchildren, one sister Anita Schimp, of Rew, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, three brothers, Larry, Dale, and Sonny Slater, and one sister Christine Reinard.

Family will receive friends on Monday September 23, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Avenue., where funeral services will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Matthew McDonald, Pastor of New Life Fellowship Church officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
