Mary Rae was many things a devoted mother, a pillar of the community, and a fierce advocate for the less fortunate to name a few. A personal rembrance: I remember her regal bearing sitting ''front and center'' at every performance given by our local theatre group back in the day. She was a class act. May she rest in Peace.

Mary was so many incredible things to me—my mentor, surrogate mom, friend and spiritual advisor. She believed in me, unqualified for the position at Futures and hired me on a prayer. She encouraged my education when I thought I was overwhelmed as a single mom with 2 babies. But most of all she believed in me enough to change my ‘future.’ She even hosted a graduation party for my entire family. Above all she made sure I always had God in the drivers seat of my life. I feel like a piece of my heart has crumbled away. But it has grown wings now and I can reach out to her angel-self for help. She touches all of you still and I send my deepest sympathy for your loss and gratitude to each of you for sharing Mary with me for 48 years.
