Janet S. Goebl

Janet S. Goebl, 79, of N. Nookside Lane, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at her residence surrounded by family.  

Born on December 21, 1946, in Cadillac, MI, a daughter of the late Joe and Fran (Cleary) Breidenstein. 

 She was a 1965 graduate from Cadillac High School. She then attended Ferris State Junior College.  

On June 21, 1969, in Cadillac, MI, Janet married Mark Goebl, who survives. 

She was employed at Futures as a Personal Aide.  She was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Catholic Woman Club, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, for over 35 years and the Welcome Wagon.

Janet loved to spend time and buy gifts and clothes for her grandchildren. She also loved to spend time with her dogs, and to bake, especially when it came to making her legendary Christmas cookies. Janet cherished her Irish heritage, and she loved to travel. She visited Ireland, China, Italy, and Mexico. Janet also enjoyed sailing, kayaking, and their antique car collection.  

Surviving in addition to her husband Mark of 57 years, is one daughter, Elizabeth 'Libby' (Ken) Thelen, of Mechanicsburg; three sons: Michael (Kay) Goebl, of Akron, OH, Patrick (KC) Goebl, of Mars, Timothy (Michelle) Goebl, of Scarborough, ME; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by one sister, Sally Kimball; three brothers: Terry Breidenstein, Patrick Breidenstein, Thomas Breidenstein; and one grandson, Joshua Holly.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. Bernard Church, at 10 am, with Rev. John Jacquel as celebrant.
