Bonna L. Burkhouse, 95, formerly of 32 Totten Hollow, Bradford, passed away peacefully Friday, October 9, 2026, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born December 24, 1930, in Sandy Lake, she was the much cherished daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Montgomery) Wareham.
At age 5 her family moved to the Bradford area and she graduated from Bradford High School with the class of 1948.
On March 25, 1950 at Sawyer Evangelical United Brethren Church she married James C. Burkhouse, Jr. who preceded her in death on January 5, 2020.
After High School she was employed at McCourt Label, she owned and operated Bonna’s Beauty Salon, worked at Finer Floor and Furniture and as a teller at National City Bank, all in Bradford. Upon retirement she enjoyed wintering in Hempstead Texas with her husband and Texas family.
She was a member of Sawyer Evangelical Church, Bradford Senior Center and enjoyed her relationships at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Bruce Winquist) Giannantonio, of Humble TX, Jamie (Dave) Trask, of Smethport, and Kerrie (Mark) Pessia, of Lewis Run, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren,
Family will receive friends on Wednesday October 14, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at the Sawyer Evangelical Church, followed by funeral services at 11 am with the Rev. Homer Williams, Pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.
