Cecelia Wanda Maben

Cecelia Wanda Maben, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, 86, formerly of 39 Pearl St., passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at The Pavilion at BRMC. Born March 24, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Chivanski) Karczewski. On May 23, 1975 in Lockport, NY, she married Edwin E. Maben, who passed away January 21, 2009. Raised in the Buffalo, NY area, she graduated from Theodore Roosevelt School in Sloan, NY. She worked for a time at Adam, Meldrum and Anderson in the cosmetics department as a makeup assistant. She also worked for Tommy Tucker Bakery in Lockport, NY as a cake decorator for 25 years. She then started her own home business, creating specialty cakes. She was a member of St. Bernard Church in Bradford, as well as the Eagle's Club and the VFW #212 Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Wandamarie (Leon) Maben, of Bradford; a son, David George Eller,and his former wife Karen Louise Eller of Valley View, TX; five grandchildren, Brian Thomas Adkins, of Fresno, CA, Adriann Brooke Bezner, Kristina Lynn Admire-Martinez, David George Eller, II and Sara Leann Mulkern; five great grandchildren, Arial Carrie Ann Adkins, Hannah Rose Adkins, Whitney Paige West, Sommer Martinez, and Baby Reid Owen Mulkern, the newest addition to the family; a brother, Mark Thomas Karczewski, of North Tonawanda, NY; two additional brothers in law, David Maben and James (Nancy) Maben; a sister in law, Wilma Maben, several nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Oswald George Eller; two brothers, Walter Karczewski, who was killed in Belgium during WWII and Edward Karczewski. Friends are invited to call from 3-4 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 in St. Bernard Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 PM with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the Parkinson's Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.
