Betty L. Ernest

Betty L. Ernest, 85, formerly of 369 Langmaid Lane, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY.  

Born April 24, 1929 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Gladys (Crispen) Ward. She was a 1947 graduate of Bradford High School.

On June 25, 1948 in the Methodist Church in Bradford, she married Marshall Ernest, who survives. 

Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. 

Mrs. Ernest worked for Loblaw's Grocery Store, Clark's Discount Store and also Producers Bank, where she also served as a Notary Public. 

She and her husband were active in the Bob a Lees Square Dancing Group.  

In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by two daughters, Lorraine (Don) Cramer, of Holley, NY and Diana (Gerald) LaPlant, of Spencerport, NY; a daughter in law, Bonnie Ernest of Allan, TX; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (the late William R.)Zeigler, of Bradford and Leona (Pete) Vinca, of Eminence, KY and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Ernest, Jr. and a brother, Richard Ward. 

Friends are invited to call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Patrick Cox, Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to Grace Lutheran Church 79 Mechanic Street Bradford, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
