Marie Stella Viola

Marie Stella Viola, 95, formerly of 20 York St., passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Pavilion at BRMC.  

Born April 9, 1919 in Rochester, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella Lafaro Crupi.

On September 14, 1946 in Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, NY, she married Henry M. Viola, who passed away January 12, 1985. 

A 1937 graduate of Jefferson High School in Rochester, NY, she worked for nine years as a secretary in Rochester before moving to Bradford and raising her family. 

She is survived by four children,  Linda (Phillip) Sheridan, of Bradford; Nancy (Gary) Smarcz, of Penfield, NY; David (Patricia) Viola of Watertown, WI and Mark (Stephanie) Viola, of Bradford;twelve grandchildren, Phillip Sheridan, II, Scott Sheridan, Lisa Tygart, Nicholas Smarcz, Ben Smarcz, Mary Smarcz, Jennifer Fargo, Angela Martinez, Adrianne Talbot, Cory Viola, Kyle Viola and Ryan Brennan; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters in law, Charmaine Viola, Joyce Crupi and Angelina Crupi, a brother in law, Ray Henke and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carmella Henke and two brothers, Rocco Crupi and Dominic Crupi. 

Friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM, Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., East Main St., where a prayer service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday February 24, 2015, followed by an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Church, with Rev. Stephen Collins, Pastor as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to The Pavilion at BRMC, The Bradford Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Dear Family, We are sorry to find out about your Beautiful Mother and one classy lady. We just went through and are still in a disaster area in TN. Living in a holiday Inn for 3-5 days until power returns. We send our prayers and condolences and love and wish we could come but that isn't possible with the weather and Bill's new knee.
