Ida L. Nye

Ida L. Nye, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 75, of 252 East Main St., Bradford, passed away, after a lengthy illness Friday, February 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born April 30, 1939 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Florence M. (Talarico) Traphagen Sr. She was a 1957 graduate of Bradford High School.

On November 26, 1964 in St. Bernard Church, she married Clifford Nye Sr., who died on April 10, 1982.

She was a lifetime member of St. Bernard Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ida was employed at Bell Telephone Company, Bradford Air Cargo and prior to her retirement was a CNA in home health care for local area families.

Surviving are three daughters, Lori (Dan) Guthrie, Cindy Hatch, of Lewis Run, and Terri (Robert) Matzner, of Bradford, one son, Clifford (Janet) Nye Jr., of Youngsville NC, two sisters, Doris (Vincent) Silluzio, and Gertrude (Ralph) Butler, both of Olean, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant sister Grace Traphagen and one brother Walter Traphagen Jr.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. Private services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor  of St. Bernard Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Scholarship Fund.
