Marilyn A. Merritt

Marilyn A. Merritt, a loving mother and grandmother, 78, of 5361 Nichols Run, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at her residence.

Born September 7, 1936, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Donald and Rhoda (Shelley) Bromley.

Mrs. Merritt was a graduate of Bradford High School.

She was formerly married to LaVern E. Jacoby, then on May 11, 1985, in Allegany she married Benny Merritt, who died on May 26, 2007.

She had been employed at Zippo Mfg. for over 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara (Michael Newhouse) Jacoby, of Bradford, two sons, Donald (Judy) Jacoby and Robert (Cheryl) Jacoby all, of Limestone, a step son, Terry Merritt, of Salsbury, NC, a sister, Donna (Terry) Swatsler, of Kodak, TN, 6 grandchildren, Karrie Herman, Shannon (Todd) Yonker, Brian (Erica) Jacoby, Michael (Maryann) Herman, Jeremy Jacoby, and Dustin (Shalene Wymer) Jacoby, 16 great grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, 26 step great grandchildren and three nieces and three nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, February 27, 2015, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
