Richard R. Wixson, Sr.

Richard R. Wixson, Sr., 77, of 19 Miller Street, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by is loving family. 

Born March 12, 1937 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Frederick and Evelyn (Shipman) Wixson.

On September 22, 1956 in St. Bernard Church, he married Vivian Mary (Pascale) Wixson, who preceded him in death. 

He attended Bradford Schools.

He managed several service stations in the Cleveland, OH area for many years.  He returned to Bradford and worked for Race Buick, detailing cars.  In his later years, he worked as a greeter for Walmart. 

He was an avid outdoors man, enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing as well as enjoying music and playing the guitar.  He also enjoyed reading the Bible.  

He is  survived by four daughters, Dolores (Christopher) Stratton, of Bradford, Roxann (Donald) Lincoln, of Ohio, Cynthia Wixson, of Ohio and Vivian (Shannon) Shroyer, of Eldred; a son, Richard  Wixson, Jr., of Bradford, 16 grandchildren, Michelle Sprester, Tina Allen, James Wixson, Christopher Stratton, Jr., Donald Lincoln, III, Steven Lincoln, Joey Wixson, Shannon Wojtkiewicz, Kevin Kerscmar, Brian Wixson, Justin Wixson, Nathanael Shroyer, Hannah Shroyer, Britni Wixson, Taylor Wixson and Serena Wixson; 19 great grandchildren with one great grandchild and a great great grandchild on the way; a brother, Ronald (Joyce) Wixson, of Ohio and many nieces and nephews and his companion, Natalie Reynolds.   

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jean Drugg, Barbara Neely, Sandra Heysham and Greta June Wixson and four brothers, Robert Wixson, William Wixson, Sonny Wixson and James Wixson. 

Friends are invited to call from 1-2 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St., where a memorial service will be held at 2 PM, with Rev. Mike McAvoy, Pastor of Open Arms Community Church officiating.
