James C. Danias

James C. Danias, 74, of 66 Sherman Street, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his residence.

Born May 25, 1941, in Erie, he was a son of the late James K. and Frances H. (Majewski) Danias.

On October 2, 1965, in Bradford, he married Rebecca J. (McKinney) Danias, who survives.

Mr. Danias was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School. He had worked with his father at the Famous Lunch Restaurant. He also worked at Bradford Meat & Provisions, Miles-Bradford and later at Bradford City Beers as a salesman until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Jaycee's, a charter and founding member of the Don Raabe Big 30 All-Star Charity Classic where he had held various offices. He was lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Monday Men's Group at the Presbyterian Church, and the St. Francis 50+ Group.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had been an instructor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Hunter Safety Course. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp with family and especially his grandsons.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by three daughters, Kelly L. Danias of Irmo, SC, Beth A. (John)  Eberth of Portville, NY, and Kathleen M. (Bradley Skaggs) Danias of Bradford, two sisters, Dianne (James) Dale of Erie, and Athena (James) Lopez of Erie, three brothers, Anthony (Christy) Danias of Bradford, Thomas (Sue) Danias of Erie, and Christopher Danias of Bradford, four grandchildren, Kevin Eberth, Brenden Skaggs, Bryce Skaggs and Brett Danias-Skaggs and many nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 2 to 4pm & 6 to 8pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St.

Friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday, June 1, 2015, in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor, as Celebrant.
