Katherine Ann "Katie" Sherk

Katherine Ann "Katie" Sherk, 85, of 5860 Leonard Run, Limestone, passed away, Thursday, June 4, 2015.

Born September 29, 1929, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Pauline G. (Gallup) Redington.

Mrs. Sherk was a 1946 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. She had been the supervisor of the case worker’s at the office of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare for 28 years.

She attended West Branch United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Limestone Fire Department Auxiliary, Limestone VFW Auxiliary and a member of P.A.A.R.S.E.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda K. DuBois, of Limestone and Karen L. (the late Rod) Woodhouse, of Bradford, a son, Stephen L. (Barb) Sherk, of Bradford, a sister, Janet Daniels, of Limestone, and a brother, Larry (Barbara) Redington, of Northumberland, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, June 7, 2015, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 8, 2015, with Rev. Matt Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Committal services and burial will be in Limestone Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary or Limestone VFW Auxiliary.
