Catherine "Jo" Miller, 77, a loving mother, and grandmother, of Gifford, formally of Lafayette, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born October 2, 1937 in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Daisy (Garvin) Newhouse.
On October 5, 1957, at St. Joseph Church in Mt Alton she married William E. Miller, who died on October 28, 1995.
Mrs. Miller attended Bradford Schools. She had been employed at AirCo Speer, Case Cutlery, cooked at the DeSoto and Tacks Inn, drove the ATA bus and before retiring, worked in Advanced Technology in Ohio, before returning to the area.
She enjoyed fishing, building bird houses and fixing all sorts of things. Other favorite pastimes were painting and puzzles. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler's fan, and loved watching the Little League World Series. She had been a coach for the Mt. Alton Girls Softball team.
Surviving are three daughters, Christine M. (Mark) Taylor, of Gifford, Theresa L Campbell, of Manheim, and Carol Jean (Brian) Conner, of Cyclone, two sons William A. Miller, of Bradford, and Thomas M. Miller, of Lafayette two sisters, Twila Barger, of Bradford, and Carolyn Carr, of Brockport., 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Robin A. Peck and Susan J. Miller, one sister, June Zuccolotto, and one brother Richard S. Newhouse.
Family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 7, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 8, 2015, with Rev. Matt Blake officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
