Kristine Birmingham Shaw, 74, of Sanford FL, formerly of Bradford, passed June 1, 2015, peacefully, after a long illness.
Born April 5, 1941, she was a daughter of William and Helen (Bentley) Birmingham.
She was a 1959 graduate of St. Bernard’s Catholic High School, Bryant Stratton Business School in Buffalo, Corning Community College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Barry University in Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
Kristine practiced as a career Registered Nurse, focused on Health Care administration for Hospitals and Health Insurers. She held leadership positions as Director, Assistant Director and Case Manager and retired in 2003.
Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Gordon Shaw, of Sanford, four daughters, Michael Ann (Ben) Elliott, twins Kristen Verkon and Kreagh Verkon, all of Orlando, and Jennifer (Michael) Allen of Davie FL, two sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Verkon of Jacksonville, Aaron (Safina) Shaw of Portland OR, eight grandchildren, Devin, Alex and Braden Elliott, Kaylie Verkon, Madison and Colin Allen, Dalton and Delaney Maxwell, one sister Kaele Flynn of Erie, one brother Tom Birmingham of Hamburg NY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Kathryn O’Mara Colon who died May 7, 2015.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Saturday, September 26, 2015, in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor as celebrant. Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
